Only line side 1 worked. Line side 2 was bad on both switches. I only needed one side to work and found the one side bad because I mounted in a 2 gang box and used the out side of the switches. You may want to check your stock to see if they are all bad too. I had to cut the top off on both switches to fit in the box or I would have had to return them. I found all this after they were installed and one wouldn't work.This timer performs as it should, but the major flaw is that it doesn't come with proper face plate and trying to make it work with universal plates is a failure. And if the plate that shows time increments does not stay put, the purpose is defeated.I had to research a lot to find one of these with the right hour settings that this model has.It works well.This was a repalcement for a previous model that lasted about 5 years.many current switch boxes are not deep enough for this to mount flush with wallI got one of these for my outdoor patio overhead fans/lights. The timer is good but I have used these and other wall based spring wound timer switches from Intermatic and they don't last more than 3-5 years. The timers quit. Still can be used manually but that's not what I am buying this product for. In that time, you make your money back from the savings without a doubt but be prepared to buy a new one as they will not last. I love the product, hate to be so honest about the lack of useful life but I think Intermatic knows as I've had over 12 of these (many with different timer settings) at my properties and only a few lasted over 5 years. Easy as a light switch to install. Several years of saving on wasted electricity makes this a good deal. I've tried other brands and they fail even sooner.This short life is not representative of all Intermatic timers. The ones that are encased in a metal enclosure with a 24 hour timer and trippers that you can change have been in pools and electric water heaters for 20+ years without a problem except resetting the timers when there has been a power outage. They are great!Update: One year later...still going strong!
