Everything I’ve seen about this fan, even on the Progress web site, says it takes a 3/4” downrod. IT DOES NOT! It takes a 1” downrod. So frustrated. I had everything I needed, or so I thought, rented a ladder because mine is not tall enough, only to find out the downrod I bought is too small. If you need a longer downrod, buy a 1”!! Otherwise, the fan is great. Love it Time is something I have so little of, and it pis*es me off to no end when it is wasted by misinformation. If you are not buying the remote feature, the installation should not be too difficult if your are "handy"". If you are buying a unit with remote capability, it's a bit more complicated since the remote is not built into the unit and must be installed into the unit.We bought 2 brushed nickel units for our living room and we are very satisfied with our decision to buy them. They are elegant and very quiet. We have two of them in our great room cathedral ceiling. Can't even hear them running. We use one remote to control both fans at the same time. We could have run them separate, but like this way better. This is a great ceiling fan. It’s quiet and the contemporary style makes the room look amazing. Fits well on my 8 foot ceiling.Beautiful light but both of the ones we have turn on by themselves. Both the fan and the light randomly turn on and off. Saw in another review this apparently is something that happens. ?This fan is gorgeous and we get many compliments on it. The LED lighting with the dimmer is wonderful. The best part is this fan is absolutely silent, even on high! LOVE IT!This fan was easy to install I bypassed the remote control and run the fan from the wall switches. It puts out a great deal of light and really moves the air very well.Great product good price
